Solids Transport Examples - In Piping, Open Bag, and Closed Bin (B-FSM-164)

Example 1: Solids Transport in Piping (Onshore Australia)

Solids are removed from produced water with a liquid desander. The separated solids are not dewatered, but mixed with water to form a slurry. This slurry is transported by pipe several meters for injection disposal.

Example 2: Solids Transport in Open Bag (Onshore Europe)

Solids are removed from produced water with a liquid desander. The separated solids are dewatered in an open bin/bag system. The dewatered sand is picked up by crane, set on truck, and sent to landfill for disposal.

Example 3: Solids Transport in Closed Bin (Offshore Australia)

Solids are removed from multiphase flow with a wellhead filter-screen. The separated solids are dewatered in a closed-bin system. The dewatered sand is sent to shore for landfill disposal.
